About Kurt TeWinkel
Founder of MidLifeGolf.com
I’m Kurt TeWinkel—a very average golfer at best with a not-so-average love for the game. I’ve spent years in the golf industry, selling equipment and working closely with course maintenance teams, which has given me a deep respect for what goes into keeping the game playable, beautiful, and quietly remarkable. Out on the course, though, I’m just a guy who loves the journey around 9 or 18 holes, battles the occasional (ok, frequent) frustration, and finds joy in the honest pursuit of a better swing—and a better life.
Off the course, I’ve experienced the kind of loss that reshapes everything to the core. My wife and I lost our 15-year-old daughter in 2019, and since then, I’ve come to see life—and golf—with a new lens. I believe in slowing down, living with purpose, and choosing meaning and quality over quantity. That perspective drives everything I do, including my love for writing. I’ve published several books, including Nine Holes of Wisdom, Landscaping for the Soul, The Mid-Round Manual: Inspiration for Frazzled Golfers, and even a bit of regional fun in Midwestern Border Battle Cookbook: Minnesota vs. Wisconsin, among others. For me, writing is another way to stay grounded, share truth, and connect with others walking through their own back nines.
At the end of the day, I believe in following your passions, staying open to what life brings, and remembering—you just never know who you’re going to meet today.

About Eddie Langston
Member, Willow Dunes Country Club
Author of The Mid-Round Manual
If you’re looking for swing tips from a scratch player, you’re in the wrong place. I’m Eddie Langston—mid-50s, mid-handicap, and fully obsessed with the game of golf. Not the gadgets. Not the gimmicks. The game. The walk, the weather, the feel of a flushed 6-iron, and the eternal chase of getting just one shot right enough to bring you back next weekend.
I’ve been a proud member of Willow Dunes Country Club for over a decade, where I’ve made more bogeys than birdies but never once regretted showing up. I’m what you might call a golf purist—Sunday bag, walking shoes, a scorecard pencil I sharpen with a pocketknife. I believe in playing the ball down, shaking hands on 18, and respecting the game even when it doesn’t always respect me back.
When I’m not playing, I’m writing about it. I penned The Mid-Round Manual: Inspiration for Frazzled Golfers with Kurt to help folks remember why they play, especially when things go sideways. It’s part pep talk, part therapy, part reminder that the real win is just staying in love with the game.
I’m not here to tell anyone how to play. I’m just here to share what keeps me coming back—and maybe, if you’ve ever muttered “I should’ve stayed home” on hole 7 and still teed it up again the next day, we’ve got more in common than you think.
See you out there,
Eddie
